Dana Mendenhall has spent a lifetime immersed in the flooring industry, starting in 1972 as a warehouse worker and area rug binder. By 1980, Dana became a territory rep for Galaxy Carpet Mills, following in the footsteps of a family legacy. Dana's father, Don Mendenhall, was a top sales performer and founded his own flooring company, eventually creating the ‘CarpeTalk’ store system. NWFA Certified in Wood Flooring and Flooring America Certified, Dana brings expertise in sales, installation, and management, always focused on providing the best service to homeowners. Oh, and there’s a beloved grand-dog named Vader!

 

Gary Mendenhall

 

Gary Mendenhall brings over 47 years of expertise in the flooring industry, a legacy started by his father, who founded Don Mendenhall’s Floor Coverings in 1959. Gary has seen every side of the flooring business from working in the warehouse to becoming a seasoned sales professional and manufacturer's rep. He’s passionate about helping customers find the perfect solution, knowing that a thrilled client is the ultimate reward. With a deep knowledge of everything from hardwood to carpet, Gary finds joy in each project's unique challenges. He starts his day with two cups of coffee and a smile.

 

Steve Ellis

 

Steve Ellis has been in the flooring industry since 1996, starting as a teen working for his older brothers. With a family deeply rooted in the business, Steve brings decades of experience and a passion for helping customers find the perfect floors for their homes. While he used to favor carpeting, today he focuses on what best fits each family's needs. A loving father of six, Steve enjoys meeting new people and making lasting connections. When he's not at work, he’s likely spending time with his family and their four rescued pets—one dog and three cats.

Steve Baker has been in the flooring industry since 1982 and brings over four decades of expertise to the table. Working alongside his sister, Julie, at Buddy’s Ridge, and with his child Jae contributing behind the scenes, flooring runs deep in his family. Steve is NWFA certified and loves helping customers understand their flooring options. While carpet is his favorite material, he’s passionate about finding the right fit for each home. A dedicated coffee drinker, Steve also enjoys the two groundhogs living under his shed. For him, flooring is more than a job—it's a calling.

 

Julie Baker-Modovan

 

Julie Baker-Modovan entered the flooring industry in January 2018, bringing a wealth of experience from over 30 years in construction-related products. With a design degree from U.C. and NWFA certification, Julie combines technical expertise with a creative eye. Her favorite part of the job is working alongside her talented team, and she enjoys helping customers select the perfect carpet for their space. Before flooring, she owned a lighting showroom in the 1990s. Julie starts her day with coffee and sparkling water, ready to bring her passion and knowledge to every project. 

Jill Isaacson

 

Jill Isaacson has been a key player in the flooring industry since 1999, starting at Kemper Design Center and currently thriving at Buddy’s Flooring America. With a Graphic Design degree and multiple certifications, she excels in guiding clients through product knowledge, ensuring they make informed decisions. Jill’s favorite flooring product is carpet, where she emphasizes the importance of color and texture in complementing wall colors. A coffee enthusiast, she shares her home with two cats, Leyon and Lu Lu. Outside of work, Jill enjoys staying active through pickleball, golf, hiking, and biking, while also immersing herself in the arts.

Missy Turner

 

Missy Turner joined the flooring industry in 2022, driven by a passion for learning and evolving daily. While she appreciates the aesthetic appeal of laminate and the cozy feel of carpet, she values the diversity of products available. A proud mother of two and grandmother to one, Missy cherishes making memories with her family and friends through travel. When she’s not exploring new destinations, she enjoys the company of her two beloved pit bulls, Lulu and Empress. A University of Cincinnati graduate, she approaches every day with enthusiasm and a thirst for knowledge.

Jeremy Coons

 

Jeremy Coons has been a dedicated professional in the flooring industry since 1998 and has been with Buddy’s Flooring America since 2007. With certifications from the Carpet & Rug Institute and the National Wood Flooring Association, he excels at simplifying the flooring process for his clients, helping them achieve their ideal spaces. His favorite product is carpet, known for its warmth and versatility. Outside of work, Jeremy enjoys the company of his English Golden Retriever, Atlas. Grateful for his role in revitalizing Buddy’s FA Northgate, he’s proud to see the location thriving nine years after its reopening.

Mia Johnson has been a dedicated flooring expert since October 2018, earning her certifications as a Certified Flooring Consultant and Flooring Design Specialist. Known as the family flooring guru, she loves meeting new clients and their pets and building trusted relationships. Mia’s favorite product is LVT, reflecting her passion for innovation, although she sells more carpets. A coffee enthusiast, she enjoys her homemade brew with vanilla cream and sugar. Outside of work, Mia shares her home with three dogs, two cats, and a family of kittens, demonstrating her love for animals and a life full of compassion.

A devoted pet parent, she shares her life with two Beagles, Autumn and Winnie, and two cats, Kitty and Lady Cheesecake. When she’s not busy at work, she enjoys a refreshing Dr. Pepper, fueling her creativity and commitment to exceptional service.

A resident of Centerville, Scott is an avid sports fan, cheering for the Reds, Bengals, Kansas City Chiefs, and Ohio State University. Larry Phillips has been a dedicated professional in the flooring industry since 1988, following in his family's footsteps. With over 30 years of experience as an installer in commercial and residential settings, Larry excels at making the flooring process easy and enjoyable for his clients. A passionate Browns fan, he enjoys working with carpets the most and finds joy in meeting new people. When he’s not helping customers, you can find him gardening or planning his next trip to Disney World with his fiancée, alongside their two dogs, Delgado and Ocho.
